We run an on-site Wrap Around Care Club called 'Explorers'.

Explorers provides quality wrap around childcare for the families of Kings Furlong Infant School. Our aim is to create a welcoming and friendly setting where children feel safe and valued whist enjoying the provision we offer in the club.

Breakfast Club

Our breakfast club is open from 7:45am and is run in the school hall. Breakfast is included in the price and children can choose from a range of healthy cereals, toast and fruit. We can accommodate 20 pupils from Year R to Year 2 and sessions must be booked in advance. The cost of breakfast club sessions is £5 and booked sessions must be paid for in advance using the online SCOpay system.

After School Club

Children are be taken to the school hall by staff in school for their Explorers session. Children can also be delivered from other after school clubs, such as football, choir etc. During Explorers, children are offered a healthy snack on arrival before settling down to a range of play-based activities. Children attending a full session will also be offered a light tea at around 5pm. We can accommodate up to 20 children each day from Year R – Year 2 and sessions must be booked in advance. The cost of an after-school session is £7 for a half session until 4:30pm or £10 for a full session until 5:30pm. Booked sessions must be paid for in advance using the online SCOpay system.

How to book

Sessions are booked through SCOpay and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Sessions can be booked on an ad hoc basis (dependent on availability) but will need to be paid for at the time of booking though this system to secure your space.

Session booking will close at midday for the after school session that day and the breakfast club session for the following day. Book early to avoid disappointment.

If you are wanting to pay for sessions using Tax Free Childcare or Childcare Vouchers, you will need to sign up for a regular pattern each week for which you will then receive a monthly invoice for. Please contact the office to book these regular sessions.

We apologise, but we are unable to accept Tax Free Childcare or Childcare vouchers for ad hoc session bookings. 

Parents must notify Explorers in advance if their child will not be attending a booked session. It is very worrying if we are expecting a child and they do not turn up. Messages may be left on the explorers mobile voicemail or with the school reception. Unfortunately, no refunds will be given for missed sessions.

Collection information held by the school will be shared with Explorers and only contacts on the main school collection list will be able to collect from Explorers. If you need to update this, please contact the school office.
